The Story

The Nami (波), or wave pattern was commonly used on armor and banners during the Sengoku Era, as wars resembled moving waves. It was also used in shrines to represent gods of the sea. The Nami pattern represents unity and strength.

A quintessential summer accessory, our bandanas will soften with use, to become a treasured item worn throughout the seasons. These classic indigo fabrics are printed using a hand screen-printing technique called Tenasen.

Learn how to make your bandana into a face mask here!

Recommended Care Instructions: Dry cleaning or cold water wash (hand wash preferable). Please hang dry or tumble dry on low settings. High temperatures will damage and shrink the fabric.

*If you are purchasing this bandana to use as a face mask, elastic bands are available upon request. Please leave a note in the note section if you would like them. There is a limit of one pair of bands per order.
